Outdoor Therapy

Outdoor Therapy

Outdoor therapy, also known as nature therapy or walk and talk counselling, combines traditional therapeutic techniques with the calming and restorative benefits of nature. Therapy sessions will be conducted in an outdoor setting near East Kilbride or Coatbridge. Here we can embrace the healing power of nature, offering a unique and refreshing alternative to face-to-face counselling allowing you to benefit from the natural environment as part of your therapeutic journey.

Benefits of Outdoor Therapy

  • Enhanced Well-Being: Nature has a calming effect on the mind and body, helping to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.
  • Increased Mindfulness: Being in nature encourages mindfulness, allowing you to be more present and engaged during your therapy sessions.
  • Improved Mood: Fresh air, sunlight, and natural surroundings can boost your mood and energy levels.
  • Physical Activity: Incorporating gentle physical activity into your therapy, a walk and talk, can help improve the connection between your mind and body (as well as your overall health and wellbeing!)
  • Connection to Nature: Building a connection with nature can foster a sense of peace, grounding, and interconnectedness.

Location

I am currently able to offer outdoor therapy in Calderglen Country Park in East Kilbride, and Drumpellier Country Park in Coatbridge as standard. I can also consider other locations on request, but these would need to be priced on application depending on travel time.

Areas of Focus

As a person-centred counsellor, I work with you as an individual on anything you feel like bringing each week. I am particularly experienced in working with the below areas:

  • Anxiety and Panic Attacks: learn coping strategies to manage anxiety and reduce the impact of panic attacks with counselling.
  • Low Mood and Depression: Explore the underlying causes of your low mood and work towards creating a more balanced and fulfilling life.
  • Low Self-Esteem: Help to rebuild your confidence and self-worth through supportive and empathetic counselling.
  • Grief and Loss: A safe space to process your emotions and find a path to healing after the loss of a loved one or a significant change in your circumstances.

Person-centred counselling

Person-centred counselling focuses on your own unique circumstances. This means that your needs and experiences are the primary focus of all our sessions. This empathetic, non-directive method empowers you to lead the way in your healing journey, helping you find your own solutions and develop a stronger sense of self.

Feel free to reach out with any questions or to book your first consultation session. I look forward to supporting you on your path to healing and growth!
